Dr Rachel Guthrie (Clinical Psycholigst)

Rachel is a member of the College of Clinical Psychologists. She has experience in both clinical research and treatment of anxiety and mood disorders, and has a PhD in Psychology from the University of New South Wales in the area of posttraumatic stress. She has been a lecturer on the Masters of Clinical Psychology programmes at the University of New South Wales and Macquarie University. Rachel works at The Hills Clinic, treating anxiety disorders (e.g., panic disorder, social phobia, generalised anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder) and mood disorders (e.g., major depressive disorder) in adolescents and adults. The psychological treatment of choice for these disorders is Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, which involves changing unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours.


Mr Roberto Parada (Specialising Child, Adolescent and Family Psychologist)

Dr Roberto H. Parada PhD(Psych) is an experienced psychologist who specialises in assisting children, adolescents and their families. A full member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), the Australian Association for Cognitive and Behaviour Therapy (AACBT), and the International Early Psychosis Association (IEPS). Roberto works with Student services at Catholic Education, Diocese of Parramatta, a Clinician at the Hills Clinic, and is also an Adjunct Research Fellow at the University of Western Sydney.

Roberto has a background in Education and Psychology. He has worked in child and adolescent psychiatry, in school systems, and with parents and teachers in the implementation of anti-bullying and mental health interventions. As researcher at the University of Western Sydney he has designed and evaluated the implementation of a highly successful whole-school anti-bullying intervention.

Dr Parada has published book chapters, scientific papers and presented at international and national scientific conferences in the areas of psychometrics, parenting skills training, population based interventions, bullying, and child and adolescent mental health. His research has also been featured in Teacher Magazine, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Telegraph, The Western Australian, Channel 7, SBS television and ABC and commercial radio. He has also authored a number of psychometric instruments to assess peer relations, locus of control, self-concept, and other psychological domains. The Adolescent Peer Relations Instrument was recently chosen by the Centre for Disease Control (USA) to be included as a recommended measure for epidemiological studies in bullying.


Dr Elizabeth Seeley-Wait (Psychologist)

Elizabeth is a Clinical Psychologist with expertise in a wide range of therapies including Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioural Therapies. She has recently returned from a year at Yale Medical School where she was a fellow in the Department of Psychiatry. In addition to her PhD and Masters in Clinical Psychology, Elizabeth has a Masters degree in human development from Harvard University. Although Elizabeth has a specialty in working with children, adolescents and families, she has experience in working with people of all ages who have difficulties with depression, anxiety (all forms - including OCD and phobias), grief, adjustment, parenting issues, motivation, self-esteem, relationships and trauma. Elizabeth currently divides her time between The Hills Clinic (on Thursdays and Fridays) and Macquarie University.
