About The Hills Clinic
The Hills Clinic is a specialist practice, providing private psychiatric and psychological treatment for a wide range of mental health issues including depression, bipolar disorder and anxiety disorders. The Clinic was first opened in Castle Hill in 2004 as a response to the increasing demand for mental health services in the northwest of Sydney but now services Baulkham Hills, Hornsby, Ku-ring-gai, Blacktown and Penrith Local governement areas as well as south and central coast regions. In creating the clinic we wanted to bring together therapists with different disciplines to provide complimentary and comprehensive treatment programs accessible to all ages, genders and cultures. Treatments are provided for a wide spectrum of conditions, including; childhood anxieties, relationship and grief issues, attention deficient disorders, substance disorders, adult anxiety disorders, major depression, bipolar disorder, psychotic illnesses and post traumatic stress disorder. Staff at the Clinic understand how difficult it can be for you to seek help and so we go out of our way to provide a sense of ease through a safe, secure and comfortable environment.
Making an Appointment
All clinicians at the Hills Clinic are registered with Medicare. To claim a medicare rebate you will need to bring with you a referral from your local doctor. If you are seeing a psychiatrist a standard doctor's referral is adequate. If you are seeing a Pscyhologist or other allied health worker, you will need to ask you GP for a mental health treatment plan. We are unable to provide fees for the different clinicians on the website as they differ from clinician to clinician and update regularly. All our clinicians set their own fees and so the best way to enquire regarding fees is to contact The Hills Clinic. Most clinicians have a waiting time of several weeks to several months. If you are a new patient, our staff will always offer you the earliest appointment available, unless you specify a particular clinician. If the delay for your appointment seems too long, we suggest you discuss this with your GP and consider seeing an alternative clinician.
Once you have made an appointment, you will recieve a letter from us, giving you the details of the appointment. Once you receive this, we ask that you review the information and call us back to confirm the appointment. On the day of the appointment, please arrive at least 15 minutes early to fill out necessary forms. The initial appointment usually lasts approximtely an hour. Because of the nature of the work we are in, the clinician may be running late. It is perfcectly acceptable to attend the appointment with a family member or friend. If you are unable to attend the appointment, we ask that you call us no later than 24hrs prior to the appointment. This allows us to give the appointment to someone else. If notification is not given, a cancellation fee will apply.
