HAND HYGIENE REPORT
Hand Hygiene Australia is the national governing body for hand hygiene standards in all healthcare facilities in Australia including psychiatric and mental health facilities. The Hills Clinic is a leading psychiatric mental health facility in Sydney’s northwest and has invested time in training a Gold Standard auditor to comply with the process. The first audit took place in October 2013 and this audit provided baseline results based on basic hand hygiene knowledge. Following this The Hills Clinic invested in personal alcohol based hand rub, Hand Hygiene Australia education, fixed wall hand hygiene appliances and educational signage regarding hand hygiene compliance.
This has seen a dramatic improvement in our second audit which took place in March 2014. The Hills Clinic is Sydney’s leading private psychiatric and mental health care facility hospital and is committed to continuous improvement. The Hills Clinic will continue to audit as per the national Hand Hygiene Australia requirements.
